Greetings once again my friends - Tonight we have a double entry for Boingo-Tober 5, first up is "Good For Your Soul Reloaded" Boingo's incredible 3rd album, and then a brand new "bootleg single" of a rare version of Kiss My Ass in Mesa, Arizona 1994, It's a mediocre audience capture but I did the best I could with it to enhance the sound. In other news- those of you that know me well must know that this whole blog list widget thing isn't sitting well with me. So here's the first rumblings of new design possibly coming soon. There's so many fine templates available from Google's various competitors that it makes them look like the idiots they are. Imo there's just no excuse for losing everybody's blog lists like that.....The Horror!!
GOOD FOR YOUR SOUL RELOADED
WHAT I LOVE - My top #1 favorite. The opening triple punch of Who Do You Want To Be, Good For Your Soul, and No Spill Blood is unparalleled in any other album and it just keeps that tempo up all the way thru the album closer, a punk/ska firecracker called Little Guns.
WHAT I HATE - On this album, nothing!
WHAT ASTROLOGICAL SIGN I THINK THIS ALBUM WOULD BE- Aries
WHAT TIME OF THE DAY IS BEST TO LISTEN TO THIS ALBUM - Mid-morning to Noon!
BEST SONG - So many great ones but I would have to pick No Spill Blood.
WORST SONG - Pictures Of You but still come on!
BEST DRUG TO TAKE WHILE LISTENING TO THIS ALBUM - That would be speed.
MY BEST PERSONAL MEMORY ASSOCIATED WITH THIS ALBUM - I once auditioned for a Boingo cover band called Dead Man's Party as bass player, It was around 2000 but I had to learn quite a few off this album for the audition and I remember practicing and realizing that this stuff was much harder to learn than thought!
New Bootleg Single -
Kiss My Ass (Mesa AZ 1994)
TONIGHT'S BOOTLEG OFFERING
"TWO WHISKY'S PLEASE"
Here is a self-compiled bootleg I made from two different cassette source tapes which I obtained from the Secret Society (original Oingo Boingo fanclub). Both shows were partial shows and both were recorded at the Whiskey so I put them both together on one CD and called it "Two Whiskeys Please" The sound quality is almost identical on both shows, in fact, you would probably just think it's one show. It's typical B+ audience stuff for the time period. There are 14 songs total and there are some very classic early Boingo tunes here including the very rare song "I Have To Be Entertained" and a very early version of "Little Guns" which Danny says on the tape he hasn't even decided what to call yet!
