Now officially considered a "cult" movie, I liken Damnation Alley to part desert road trip movie, part ABC movie of the week and part Food Of The Gods. You can read some real reviews below, using my Pinewoods Rating System however, we award Damnation Alley the highest B-movie rating Two & 3/4 Pinewoods....The Horror!!
CULT MOVIE REVIEW: Damnation Alley (1977)
In the year 1977, executives at 20th Century Fox believed very firmly that that they were sitting on the science fiction gold mine of the year. And it wasn't George Lucas's Star Wars they were so revved up about, but rather Jack Smight's Damnation Alley , a loose adaptation of Roger Zelazny's 1969 post-apocalyptic novel.
Damnation Alley (1977) - Review | Mana Pop
Hollywood loves a good disaster movie and one of the popular sub-genres of that is the post-apocalyptic film where heroes must survive in a topsy-turvy world after some natural or man-made disaster. In the case of Damnation Alley they decided to adapt a novel by science fiction author Roger Zelazny that dealt with life after a nuclear war.
