THE FACES 1971! - REVISITING THE QUINTESSENTIAL FACES ALBUM KNOWN AS 'LONG PLAYER' YA DIG

For the experienced collectors and music aficionados out
there, you can probably sit this one out, ya dig?
Faces 101 is in session for you newer fans and
Long Player is the gospel ya dig? A strange
mixture of studio and live tracks but the 9
selections are all great and cover just about
every color of the Faces rainbow with jams,
ballads, rockers, slide solos and crowd sing-
a-longs. A great Ronnie Lane track called
Richmond and what has to be one of the most
imaginative covers of all time, Maybe I'm Amazed
turned into a hard rocker slightly prog rock
thing with that great guitar work by Woody.

Faces Long Player Album Review

Being one of the few English bands left willing (nay, all too happy) to flaunt their Englishness, and moreover ranking no lower than third on the current faverave list of such heavy critics as John Mendelsohn, Faces should be just a shout away from becoming very enormous indeed, and, in the opinion of such heavy critics as John Mendelsohn, perhaps saving rock and roll from taking itself seriously to death in the process.
