JAMES BROLIN CHASES THRU NYC IN "NIGHT OF THE JUGGLER"! - OBSCURE '80 THRILLER IS THE HORROR

Papa Brolin is a one-man vigilante force in this fast moving obscure thriller from Columbia Pictures. In total rare form, Cliff Gorman plays the bad guy daughter-kidnapper amid fast action through NYC, some classic locations (the Manhattan Animal Shelter, are you kidding me?) and to top it off a Time Square far more entertaining than the Tom Cruise family thoroughfare it is now. (Oh no, he didn't!)
One of those below-the-radar gems for sure, this has never been released on DVD and VHS copies are going for 30 and up for used and 65 and up if you can track down an unopened one. Grading this as a regular studio flick, I gotta go Three Pinewoods on this one, if you like thrillers in general it's a must-watch....The Horror!!

Obscure One-Sheet

It's a shame that Night of the Juggler , a taut thriller that revels in late '70s NYC grime, remains unavailable on DVD, and, in fact, has been out of circulation since long-defunct Media Home Entertainment released it on VHS in the mid-'80s. Based on a novel by William P.

Posted by egotrip on 01/25/2014. For all you boppers out there in the big city, all you street people with an ear for the action, we wanna relay a message: Night of the Juggler, despite a not-so-good title, is a rare piece of major studio exploitation sleaze disguised as action thriller, that will grab you by the proverbial biscuits and won't let go.

TWOS DAY WITH JETHRO TULL! - WOLVERTON 1972 BRICK SHOW + THE HORROR KNOWN AS "DOT COM"

Oh myyyyy, a 1 hour and 6 minute version of Thick As A Brick in this complete 72 show, an EX aud. And then we have a real horror known as Dot Com, the Tull 1999 studio album completely forgotten about before it was even released. But hold on just a darn tootin' minute there folks, Dot Com is a pretty decent album and the best way to describe it is if you liked Roots To Branches then you'll probably like Dot Com. In my opinion they are both cut from the same cloth, although the songs on Roots are far stronger that's for sure....The Horror!!

"CAMPFIRE TALES" ON A MOON DAY NITE! - 1991 HORROR ANTHOLOGY OF 4 TRULY HORRIFIC STORIES

Having what may be the absolute worst special effects in all of cinematic history, this little straight to video deal from '88 is actually pretty cool and at times funny in the camp and horror of it all. The story about what happens if you smoke too much pot alone is worth the view. Fans of the genre should dig this for at least one watch, using my Pinewoods Rating System I give Campfire Tales a modest Two Pinewoods....The Horror!!

Horror Movie A Day: Campfire Tales (1991)

NOVEMBER 9, 2009 I won't lie, slogging through Zombie Chronicles just two days before is probably the main reason that I have a higher appreciation for this one, but even if I had just watched a classic like Creepshow for the first time there would still be some surprising merit to this film.

MICK JONES 2007! - THE HORROR OF A BAND KNOWN AS "CARBON/SILICONE" & "THE LAST POST"

The Sheer Horror Of Carbon/Silicone - Mick's project with Tony James, this is their first physical release, a single CD in 2007 which was preceded by several internet only and ep releases. There's only one Mick Jones, ya dig? And any project he's in, well then, I'm there.....The Horror!!

Carbon/Silicon: The Last Post

Mick Jones doesn't really need to be making records in 2008. He could probably live the rest of his life off the radio residuals from "Should I Stay or Should I Go" alone, he already made the indie kids dance over 20 years ago with Big Audio Dynamite, and his suitably gritty production work on the Libertines' two albums should've satisfied any lingering, late-career urges to score cred points with the skinny-jeaned set.

Carbon/Silicon: The Last Post

Carbon/Silicon The world was hardly holding its breath for a Mick Jones/Tony James reunion. Maybe it should have been. What happens to once-innovative, now-aging rockers whose individual careers have sunk to near-obscurity? They form 'supergroups'. Aware of the commercial dangers of courting that phrase, Carbon/Silicon has instead been touted as "a pairing of Rock Legends".

SATURDAY NIGHT WITH "FRANKENSTEIN & ME"! - BURT REYNOLDS 1996 FAMILY FLICK IS THE HORROR

Thanks to a blog called Rupert Pupkins Speaks and all his various cronies, I have discovered scores of new movies over the last four years that I might not have known otherwise. This little G-rated gem is one such flick. A low-budget, they shot all of Burt Reynold's scenes in one day. Basically the story is about two kid brothers that are crazy about all things monster related and are in the process of trying to build their own Frankenstein in the garage. The movie has a very young Ryan Gosling and straight across the board this is a great indie flick and a must for any age that loves monster movies....The Horror!! Pinewoods Rating System - Three Pinewoods
"Fun and surprisingly touching account of a troubled by imaginative young boy who plots a fanciful feat straight out of James Whale. Director Bob Tinnell is a student of horror cinema, and a handful of dream sequences invoke the spirit of classic Universal and Hammer monster classics. Set during the early 1970s, Tinnell and his crew evoke the period with the precision of bigger budget films like THE ICE STORM and DAZED AND CONFUSED. One of those rare and wonderful films which, although aimed at younger audiences, which can be enjoyed by all members of the family. A must-see for monster lovers with kids." - fan review
Full movie someone upped on You Tube. This is rare and out-of-print and never released on DVD. Used VHS copies go for anywheres from about $25 and up.

NEW BOOTLEG SINGLE! - OINGO BOINGO '80 HORROR "NASTY HABITS>SLUGGO INTRO>SLUGGO'S TUNE"

Greetings, greetings! - Hello around the world and have a majorly horrific Friday night. Here's another teaser for Boingo-Tober 5, a brand new bootleg single from a very rare show at Madame Wongs West on 4/25/80 which was a Friday. I spent several hours working on this earlier from the audience source cassette, my intention was to just do the song Nasty Habits but it took off in another direction. Some minor editing was done to facilitate that transition and a lot of EQ work on the whole file to bring the drums to a crisper sound, the taper is close to the bass amp but I was able to pull that back a little. All in all I like the way it turned out, enjoy! 7daylink The Horror!!

IT'S A "SAVAGE INTRUDER," RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! - 1970 B-FLICK AKA "HOLLYWOOD HORROR HOUSE"

Totally Whacked-Out! Any flick that starts with footage of the old decrepit Hollywood Sign before it was redone is okay in my book. They flash on it at the beginning of Hollywood Blvd with Candice Ralston but this intro is not trying to show a pretty girl at the sign, it's setting the tone for one creepy, freaky, and any other adjective you want to add. Simply put, it's about an aging starlet and a very weird house guest more than half her age and the kaos that follows. Is she dreaming or hallucinating or is this stuff really happening. The house they chose for what takes up most the movie is spot-on, reminds me a lot of some of the houses we used to have up there and it's many rooms and strange furniture add to the enjoyment. A welcome addition to my collection, Savage Intruder gets Two & 3/4 Pinewoods....The Horror!!

Savage Intruder aka Hollywood Horror House (1969)

'A new high in Terror and Shock!' Savage Intruder - original title Hollywood Horror House - is a 1969 American horror film written, produced and directed by Donald Wolfe. The film's shooting title was The Comeback (not to be confused with the 1978 Pete Walker film).

Halloween Havoc!: Miriam Hopkins in SAVAGE INTRUDER (Avco Embassy 1970)

SAVAGE INTRUDER (aka HOLLYWOOD HORROR HOUSE) is the psychotronic slasher version of SUNSET BOULEVARD, with a dash of PSYCHO thrown in for good measure. Glamorous 30s star Miriam Hopkins plays Katherine Packard, an alcoholic has-been, but this is no WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE. It's demented, sleazy, unsavory, and a good time!
