NEIL YOUNG IS "LANDING ON WATER" IN THIS 1986 ALBUM OF CRAZY HORSE GONE TECH - THE HORROR!

A black sheep of all black sheeps in Neil Young's catalog, Neil goes slightly tech with Linn drums on this set of 10 tunes mostly despised by critics and fans alike. It therefore comes as little surprise this happens to be one of my favorite Young albums, this was also the first year he did Bridge School and we drove all the way up from LA. How many songs off this album did Neil do that night? That's right, zip. Food for thought as you gorge yourself with turkey sandwich #6.....The Horror!!

Landing On Water

After a series of musical one-night stands, Neil Young is finally getting serious again. His previous three albums were just dalliances - in electronic ( Trans), rockabilly ( Everybody's Rockin') and country ( Old Ways) music - none of which were terribly meaningful or deeply felt.

Neil Young's 'Landing on Water' highlights overlooked period

When people think about Neil Young at the height of his powers, the default thought goes to his oft-praised 1970s era. But Landing on Water arrived in an equally intriguing moment, as we found a restless Young discontent with plowing the same old row.
