JOHN TRAVOLTA IS BREAKING "CHAINS OF GOLD" IN THIS 1991 OBSCURE THRILLER! - THE HORROR!!

Scored this DVD the other day in a local pawn shop for just 3 bucks. It's a low-budget thriller made for Showtime about a Miami social worker desperately trying to save a boy from destruction by the street. Yep, we know the story, but it's surprisingly decent and while just one of four, Travolta scores his only writing credit ever on this. The film doesn't hold back with intensity and some of the scenes are a bit heavy. All in all, not a bad one, happy to include it in the collection with a Pinewoods Rating System score of Two & 3/4 Pinewoods, graded as a b-flick....The Horror!!

Hey Peter, what ya doing singing in your pajamas? Besides horror of course, there is only one word to describe this J Geils Band performance- blistering! An excellent soundboard at the peak of their career in a hall they called their second home. I would even go so far as to say this boot may edge out the official Blow Your Face Out album....The Horror!!

All the way from Hollyweird Blvd 1975 comes this legendary vinyl boot, possibly a first pressing, and considered my most to be the first Genesis vinyl boot. Alan Alda gives literally the performance of his career in this 1994 HBO made-for-cable flick. I was fortunate to see it when it first aired back in '94, and it instantly became a big fav. I never tire of pulling this one off the shelf for a good watch. Using my Pinewoods Rating System, White Mile gets a solid Four Tall Pinewoods, next to a river of course, highly recommend this one....The Horror!!

Greetings once again - Saddened to hear about the loss of B-movie legend Herschell Gordon Lewis. Here's a really cool fan-made photo montage and song from his flick "Blast-Off Girls" with a rock band called The Big Blast playing a song called Rock N Roll Party. This one goes out to a great friend of mine, the one and only Jeff Igoe. And of course, HG - wherever you are, I'm sure there's a celebration in place!....The Horror!!
