If the films "The Upside Of Anger," "Reign Over Me" and "Indian Summer" happen to ring a bell with ya then the common denominator is a wonderful writer-director by the name of Mike Binder. This is his first film as writer/director and it probably goes without saying that it's overlooked and under-appreciated. You can read a real review below but suffice it to say the casting and acting besides many other things is excellent, All three male leads are incredible in their parts and Jason Gedrick's is bordering on Oscar-worthy. Using the Pinewoods Rating System, Crossing The Bridge gets a solid Three Pinewoods plus an extra 1/4 Pinewood for the Buick Electra (It's a 1992 film set in 1975) for a grand total of Three & 1/4 Pinewoods....The Horror!!
Review/Film; Rosy, Sentimental Memoir of Drug Smuggling
Mort Golden (Josh Charles), the main character in Mike Binder's coming-of-age film, "Crossing the Bridge," dreams of being a comedy writer and even concocts a sample "Gilligan's Island" screenplay, complete with nightmare dream sequence. Mr. Binder aims much higher, but he too wears his ambitions on his sleeve.
Brilliant writer-director Mike Binder
