BOINGO-TOBER TIME MACHINE ROUNDS THE BEND WITH 1994 BOINGO DROPS THE OINGO THE HORROR!

Us Boingo fans are a lucky lot. Instead of our band going
out in a sputtering stall, the band pulled a Hunter S
Thompson exploding itself into outer space with
this brilliant album and the farewell shows.
An album two years in the making, it's an
exquisitely produced collection of many
diverse songs. It's complex, very deep
and flat-out unreachable by some.
When it came out I had fellow Boingo fans
jumping ship and dissing the album and I
had friends who hated Boingo saying they
loved it. Like it or lump it, one thing can
not be disputed. Up until the very last note,
Elfman and band strove to make the very
best possible music....The Horror!!

Oingo Boingo - Boingo (album review ) | Sputnikmusic

Review Summary: A truly different release, "Boingo" is as effective and unique as anything in the band's discography. The 1994 release of Boingo was not only Oingo Boingo's last release of new material (a live album and several compilations followed), it is one of their most experimental releases, which can be easily evidenced as you put in the disc and "Insanity" opens up the album.

Tonight's bootleg offering - "Sacramento 1994" a gem of a show- there are two versions in circulation, one is the full show on 2 cds and the other is a 1 cd "abridged version" where
I cut some songs and just kept what was the very best performance wise but still in concert
order. This is the latter, starts with Clowns Of Death. Unfortunately Danny's voice is totally
fried but the band's performance is downright frantic, they are on fire x 10 on this so much
so that Elfman's voice problems are easily overlooked. The band vibes off the obvious enthusiasm of the fans in the hall and towards the end they keep coming back for encores literally playing themselves completely out with a very blessed crowd. Enjoy this must-have soundboard -
