Another Burns film where a brilliant casting choice made
a great difference, in this case the rocker Bon Jovi,
who is so comfortable in his role you'd swear he'd
been acting all his life. This film is the closet to Burn's
heart yet it tanked big time, returning just 250K on
a 5 mil budget. Ironically 1998 is the same year
he starred in Saving Private Ryan, a 5-star per-
formance. If you already like Burns films, this is
his deepest and most receptive to seasoned
cinema lovers....The Horror!!
No Looking Back Movie Review & Film Summary (1998) | Roger Ebert
The movie is the latest from Ed Burns, who won the Sundance Film Festival in 1995 with his rich and moving "The Brothers McMullen," but has since made two thin and unconvincing films: "She's the One" (1996) and now this one, in which self-absorbed characters fret over their lives.
