AEROSMITH 1974! - ROCK BOOTLEGS 101 THE FIRST LESSON IS "LAID BACK? FU*K OFF BABY!"

Oh yeah, this is rock n roll balls out music baby, nice
thing about Aerosmith bootlegs it's seem like they have
a lot of excellent sound quality boots out there from the
70 and there's a small handful of Aero boots mandatory
for the serious fan. This is one of those shows, a sizzler,
we're talkin' all 8 cylinders, ya dig me? Groovy, got 2
versions in this post, the original boot called Laid Back?
Fuck Off Baby is over at our Canadian friends awesome
boot blog. A You Tube link below has a later version
with slightly improved sound. The Horror!!Reliquary

THREE DOG NIGHT GOLD LABEL VINYL - THE HORROR THAT IS "JAM" - B-SIDE OLD FASHIONED LOVE SONG

Friends & Comrades - this Friday the winter phase (aka Misty Mountain Top/Hop/Whatever) will end and ???? will start, but what fu*k is it? We're going into our 4th year with full steam and my creative juices know no bounds, they are as my dad used to say "insatiable." Actually he said that about my drinking, but anyways stick around kid, you'll get a rock n roll and b-movie education. PEACE T
In the meantime, dig this 45 vinyl actually taken from an old jukebox, "Jam" was the b-side to Old Fashioned Love Song, a huge hit for TDN. As the name "Jam" would imply the track evolved from a spontaneous studio jam, there's an early live version below from 1970 not very well developed at that point. The tune also appears on Around The World With Three Dog Night in an 7 minute version that is far superior.
One of our longest running exhibits, it's the Cat That Won't Eat Strawberries.
Once again, we urge caution- Do not, under any circumstances, feed
this cat strawberries! - The Horror!!

HOW ABOUT A NICE "COUNTRY BLUE" ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON! - 1973 DRIVE-IN DRAMA IS A HORROR

and here we have an exhibit SO frightening, SO horrific, we
urge you to use caution, please remain seated- Western
character actor Dub Taylor is the lead actor in a fun little
cops and robbers drive-in flick from 1973. Now of course
we all dig Dub and he's usually great but as lead, sorry
Charlie not a good fit. Interesting project in the sense that
the other actor Jack Conrad is mostly unknown and this
was his vanity project written and directed so he cast Dub
to draw attention and the rest of the movie falls into place
best it can. Photography and music are high points and all
added up Country Blue is not a bad flick and certainly a
must for fans of the genre....The Horror!!

HALL & OATES 1978! - THE SHEER HORROR OF AN ALBUM CALLED "LIVETIME" EL FLOPO EL STINKO?

That's right, take a good look- you're looking at the
Worlds most hated H2O album bar none and I
mean NONE. It was recorded at a show in late
'77 in PA close to Hall's hometown and it's
actually a half way decent album. The live
production on this is pretty nice and of course
the songs are great but not much else here
delivers so it just wallows as a half-ass
collection of tracks. Of note is their backup
band which contains 3 members of Elton
John's band...The Horror!!
This guy thinks HE'S Hall & Oates...The Horror!!

ADAM ANT 1978! - GET READY TO PARTY ON A FRIED EGG DAY NIGHT W/ 'DECCA DEMOS' THE HORROR

Woahhhh, what happened to the middle of your record
Jack? Very unique boot this one, a vinyl boot put out in
2011, all info below, it's some pretty horrific stuff!
Notes on this version, which is kind of a fan's remaster.
"I gathered from various sources the demos the band recorded in August 1978 for Decca (and not in December, that I will try to gather for another post), more than one year prior to the release of Dirk. During these sessions, the line-up consisted of Matthew Ashman on guitar and  Dave Barbe on drums, who would leave to form Bow Wow Wow after the Dirk LP, and Andy Warren on bass who would leave for The Monochrome Set. The music played here is rather rough and edgy, influenced actually more by some progressive bands of the seventies (with a touch of Krautrock and a Velvet Underground flavor) than by straight post-Stooges punk, but what's surprising is how this music has aged well and has been a source of inspiration for so many bands in the late 90's and early 00's (nice number for a decade). However, I've tried to rectify the sound the best I could, using the best sources for each song, but of course maybe there are better and it's still not equivalent to the sound of an official LP. But believe me, you will listen to that quite often once you played it the first time. It's rather addictive."

SYLVESTER STALLONE & BILLY DEE WILLIAMS ARE "NIGHTHAWKS"! - 1981 CRIME THRILLER THE HORROR

Ah yes, the ole Nighthawks, another overlooked gem.
I've shared concert stories with y'all in the past, well
tonight it's a movie story- when this came out in '81
it played at the world famous Chinese Theater and
some musician friends of mine from LACC we were
just hanging out on Hollywood Blvd and walked by
the Chinese, one of my musician classmates at the time
a really cool guy named Art said hey let's sneak into
the Chinese! Having never added movie ticket shop-
lifting to my then 18-year-old repertoire of offenses,
I quickly agreed and all 3 of us hit the back double
doors and nonchalantly took some seats right as
the movie was starting....The Sheer Horror!!
Rutger Hauer kills it (ha ha) as the bad guy terrorist,
he totally makes this film, and I've always thought that
Stallone & Williams were awesome together, major
chemistry. Oh, and did I mention the dearly departed
Keith Emerson does the score...The Horror!!
Using my Pinewoods Rating System
I give the ole Nighthawks Three Tall Pinewoods.
