DOUBLE-SHOT OF LOS ANGELES NEW WAVE 1980! - THE HORROR OF THE 'SURF PUNKS' AND MY BEACH

Surf Punks rule, go back to the valley. Ya dig me? Groovy, outta site and dy-no-mite. They were much better live especially with their various props and set pieces like lifeguard towers and water slides. Like a lot of albums coming out at that time (the first Fear & Oingo Boingo just to name a few) the studio debut album was way overproduced. But their live shows and KROQ airplay put them way out in front early and the harder they climb, well you know.....The Horror!!

Surf Punks: Oh No! Not Them Again!

One of the best things about Surf Punks is they were exactly what they said they were. In the late 1970s, the Malibu band aimed to apply the no-frills surfer ideal to punk in the same way the Beach Boys had applied it to rock 'n' roll in the 1960s.

REGARDING OUR NEXT HORROR, "IT CAME WITHOUT WARNING"! - 1980 SCI-FI HORROR B-FLICK

Also known as simply "Without Warning," this 1980 b-flick carves it's own niche in the aliens genre with a truly unique story. Add a bit of a woodsy thriller thing in the mix and you have a pretty entertaining watch. As you probably alerady know, this ain't no editorial type blog so you can check out some real reviews below if so desired. Using my Pinewoods Rating System, Without Warning gets Two & 3/4 Pinewoods, the highest possible award for a b-flick....The Horror!!

Cool Ass Cinema: Without Warning (1980) review

This is a section devoted to rare, obscure and as yet to be released on legitimate DVD movies. Some films may have been released in some part of the world, or on some public domain label, or some may have simply never been released at all on the digital format.

cinematic randomness: Review: Without Warning (1980)

This very low-end mixture of science-fiction and horror follows four teenagers on a day trip out amongst the secluded wilderness of nature. Despite a somewhat cryptic warning from a local gas station owner, the four press on with their journey with little to no concern.

RITCHIE BLACKMORE'S RAINBOW 2016! - LEGEND HITS ROAD WITH NEW BAND AT AGE 70 - THE HORROR

“I’m now 70, so I just felt like playing some rock ‘n’ roll for a few days. We’re going to do four or five dates of just playing the old rock stuff, Purple stuff and Rainbow. I’m doing it for the fans, for nostalgia, and the singer I found is very exciting; he’s a cross between Dio meets Freddie Mercury. So this will mean exposing a new singer to the masses, and I’m sure he’ll become pretty famous because of his voice.”
Concert from just 10 days ago is up over at Brooklyn Steve's, the sheer horror. Why wait for a couple of schnooks to press up a record when we can have the show now...It's all very horrific....

THE MONKEES 1968! - SOUNDTRACK TO "HEAD" GETS 180G VINYL TREATMENT - THE SHEER HORROR!

Psychedelic-o-rama! In 2011, the classic vinyl album soundtrack, a true horror known as Head was re-released on clear 180g, ya dig? Groovy, an album that separates the casual Monkees fans from the serious and a pitch-perfect time capsule of fashion and the LSD culture in So Cal....The Sheer Horror!!

Getting Head... The Monkees' Last Great Album

by Jason Henn 31 October 2011 Forgotten even in it's own time, the Monkees' psychedelic swan song Head is a perfect snapshot of a bizarre and tumultuous musical era. Obsessed as we are with anniversaries (see: the building crescendo of grunge retromania), 20-, 30-, and 40-year marks reliably bring new seasons of re-analysis.

GREETINGS & WELCOME TO THE "NIGHT OF THE BLOODY APES"! - 1969 B-FLICK THE SHEER HORROR

A surprisingly engaging horror b-flick from 1969, half man, half beast. The makeup for the creature is so bad it's hilarious. Do you like a little gore with your b-flick? Well this one has some choice scenes, not too much though including a guys eyeball being thumbed out. There is what I think but am not sure scene operating on the gorilla, it looks totally real like they used stock footage there. If not they sure did a good job. Using my Pinewoods Rating System, this flick receives Two & 1/4 Pinewoods...The Horror!!

Mad Mad Mad Mad Movies: Night of the Bloody Apes (1969): or, My Heart Belongs to Bonzo

In 1960s Mexico, female luchador Lucy Ossorio ( Norma Lazareno) is an athlete at the top of her game. Resplendent in her Red Devil mask and form-fitting crimson jumpsuit, every night she wrestles to a packed house of adoring, sweaty male fans, tossing her hapless opponents around the ring like lumpy bags of week-old laundry.

Night of the Bloody Apes (1969) Movie Review

"Night of the Bloody Apes" is a slice of schlock horror from 1968 which has long enjoyed a cult following, not least due to its high quotient of sex and violence, which actually led to the film being banned in the UK during the 1980s when it was listed as one of the dreaded 'video nasties'.

STONES 1970! - THE VINYL BOOTLEG HORROR KNOWN AS "EUROPEAN TOUR 1972" - CLASSIC TMOQ

Greetings folks, it doesn't get much more classic than this, vinyl rip of above, generally considered the best sounding show in the mediocre land of 1970 tour boots. There is folklore but not proven that the reason Brown Sugar fades at end is because the taper was caught by security and booked out just barely ahead of the heat. IGGY POP IS ONE "NAUGHTY LITTLE DOGGIE"! - 1996 ALBUM IS HOT COLLECTION OF ROCKIN' HORRORS

Stick with me kid, you'll get an education. Iggy Pop 101 is in session and today's course is Iggy's overlooked albums from the 90's. Subject to your approval one album known as Naughty Little Doggie, a fine collection of 10 tunes, mostly rockers, all nicely written with a hot backing band and slick but not too slick production. Highly recommend!....The Horror!!

Iggy Pop Naughty Little Doggie Album Review

If Iggy Pop had died when most people expected him to - back in the mid-'70s, from an overdose of bad drugs and stage violence - we would probably be sitting around now wondering what kind of music he would have made in his middle age.

Review: Iggy Pop, Naughty Little Doggie - Jeremy Ashcroft

Forget what the rock'n'roll history books tell you, or what the uncharacteristically tired look of the guy on the cover might lead you to believe - Iggy Pop is still the angry teenager, at war at what he sees wrong in the world and not yet cynical enough to give up the fight.
