STONES 1975! - THE HORROR THAT IS "SMACK AND BLOW" VOLS 1, 2 & 3 BLACK N BLUE HORROR-TAKES

Wanna be a fly on the wall while the Stones record
Black n Blue? I would be hard pressed to think of
a reason why the hell not! The man who calls
himself Captain Acid has done it once again with
another great release, I say Thank You Captain
and we salute you sir! The Horror!!  This is a new release from Captain Acid, a well known sound engineer with a predilection for Stones music that presents outtakes from the Black and Blue period in 3 volumes. These all come from some known bootlegs (see sources) but also from the newly discovered Montauk rehearsals, that have been phase corrected, speed checked, levelled, equalized and edited. At times in order to make the final version of some tracks two different files have been used. For example, there were tracks that sounded better but were not complete versions, so   different sources were used to make them complete; this can be heard in particular after about 3 minutes into the instrumental take of Memory Motel. The title for this release Smack And Blow has been chosen in consideration of the drugs of choice by the Glimmer Twins at the time, not to forget that it sounds similar to Black And Blue. The first track starts with some hiss in the background but I guess it was not possible to eliminate it, as higher frequencies would have been cut too. Most of the other tracks are great sounding and it is a pleasure to listen to them. - from a fan's review
As my mom used to say after placing
the food on the table, "HAVE AT IT"
THE HORROR!!
