"IT AIN'T EASY'! - Revisiting THREE DOG NIGHT's 1970 Studio Album, their 3rd and a totally horrific album with mega-hits like Mama Told Me Not To Come and hidden gems like Roll N Roll Widow.....THE HORROR!!

Oh my friends I could go on and on about this LP,
a gem of an album released April 1970 and a fav
of both Ed and mine. It might just be their greatest
album, Cory Wells take on Mama Told Me Not To
Come is one of the greatest vocals ever laid down
in rock, you've got an Elton John song that Danny
sings and Elton hadn't even released yet, the
Ray Davies cover tune and Paul Williams
stunning "Out In The Country"....The Horror!!

Revisiting a 1998 Thriller by the name of "HARD RAIN"! - You want water, we got water, CHRISTIAN SLATER, MINNIE DRIVER and MORGAN FREEMAN Star in this Indiana set disaster flick that was really....THE HORROR!!

Neither reviews or time has been kind to this one.
Despite the uniqueness of the production design
and a good cast this flick has been pummeled.
I've had it in my collection for many years and
will admit that I probably pull it off the shelf
every couple of years or so, when the mood
strikes, it's a good action yarn and what's not
to like about Minnie Driver and water everywhere.
Using my Palm Springs Rating System, I give
this 17 year old reliable thriller a sweet
Three Palm Trees, on a very rainy nite
of course ;-)....The Horror!!
OFFICIAL TRAILER #1 - 1998 film, easy to find.
The Sheer Horror!!

ERIC CLAPTON 2013! - There's only one word to describe this 2-cd boot called "Live In Basel 2013 - Baloise Session" and that word is PHENOMENAL, ya dig me? Well Horrific Thursday To Ya In Whatever Part Of This Horrific World You Reside!

Classic LOS ANGELES JAZZ being wheeled out to main track! - DON RANDI & QUEST 1979 Out Of Print CD "New Baby" with Don Randi legendary jazz pianist and owner of The Baked Potato nightclub in Holly.....THE HORROR!!

Enjoy this great slice of Los Angeles history
Don is an icon and his club played a big
role in both Ed and I's life as we lived very
close to the club and our mom's used to
take us there and hear Don play. The only
thing they served back then was baked
potatoes which were stuffed with a
variety of choices including steak.
Don is quite the character and I had the
pleasure of meeting him on several
occasions. Enjoy some jazz....The Horror!!

The Sheer Unmitigated Horror of our next exhibit as we take a look at "LUCKY NUMBERS"! - 2000 John Travolta Comedy about a weather man and his lady friend that try and Fix The Lottery....THE HORROR!!

I totally forgot about this movie's existence until one
of the movie blogs here reminded me of it. When
it first came out on the rental circuit it was a very
popular release. I've never been a big Travolta fan
but I do think he's much better suited for comedy
and he's pretty funny here. Just added back into
my collection, using of course my Palm Springs
Rating System, I give ole Lucky Numbers a
palatable Three Palm Trees.....The Horror!!

Revisiting a little thing called ATOM HEART MOTHER! - PINK FLOYD's 1970 Innovative Record Combined The Progressive with The Psychedelic and turned it into something Symphonic, ya dig me? Groovy Baby JUST Groovy.

think of it as another color of the Pink Floyd rainbow,
ya dig me? Side 1 is a 23-minute instrumental with
orchestra, electronics, tape loops and music.
Side 2 starts with 3 five minute tunes, each written
by one of the three main members followed by
a 13-minute closing psychedelic piece. Put
it all together and you have.....The Horror!!
