The Who - Young Man Blues (1968 Studio Outtake) - From UK sampler "The House That Track Built"
16bit/44.1kHz (CD Quality Audio)
01. Young Man Blues
This stereo mix does not appear officially on CD or any other vinyl release.
Producer: Kit Lambert
Engineer: Damon Lyon-Shaw
Recorded at IBC Studio, London, September or October 1968
This song was originally intended to be part of 'Tommy', but ended up being dropped. Probably a good thing, as the definitive version
was later released on Live At Leeds. This recording appeared in 1969 on one of Track's budget various-artists compilation albums, and
has never found its way on a Who compilation. Although not a very rare record, it is pretty difficult to find in clean condition. This
transfer was made from a near mint copy, and even though the vinyl surfaces are not 100% quiet, it came out pretty damn clean.

WONDER BOYS AT 15! - REVISITING MICHAEL DOUGLAS AS A WRITER - HIS MOST HORRIFIC ROLE?!

So how does one begin to describe Wonder Boys to
someone who's never seen it? Comedy/drama, or maybe
an ensemble piece? I don't know if it's best but certainly
Michael Douglas's strangest role. This movie works
because of it's cast and their performances. Toby
Macquire and Robert Downey are amazing.
An almost unrecognizable Rip Torn is underused
somehow, maybe a bunch of his stuff wound up
on the floor, but he's better than what we get
with him, not for everybody this one,
Using my Palm Springs Rating System, I
give the ole Wonder Boys the Four Tall
& Healthy Palm Trees....The Horror!!

THE HORROR THAT IS "THE MOUNTAIN"! - 1956 SPENCER TRACY SEMI-ADVENTURE ONLY SEMI-GOOD

"Oh. thank God I finally made it, would someone tell
my assistant to bring me a Fresca..."
This turkey washed up on my shore via a YouTube
reco. and I'm always into a good air disaster flick,
ya dig me? Now I expect that for a 1956 flick
there's not going to be any phenomenal special
effects but I didn't expect a dialog-heavy 45 min
even before they leave camp to find the plane.
Yikes, had to bail and using my Palm Springs
Rating System, I give this horror a meager
One Half Of A Palm Tree....The Horror!!

MONKEES ASTROLOGY! - PISCES AQUARIUS CAPRICORN & JONES LTD - OR IS THAT LSD?

After playing their own instruments on the previous
album Headqiarters, The Monkees swung the pendulum
back the other way slightly and brought in a few
top notch guns, ya dig? It makes for a perfect
combination with this, their 4th and possibly best
album, notable for Nesmith singing lead on 5
songs and Micky playing Moog synth on 3
tracks, considered to be one if not the first
recording of the instrument for a rock album.

RUSH SET TO RELEASE NEW LIVE DVD - THOH REVISITS 1998's HORRIFIC "DIFFERENT STAGES LIVE"

Always liked this one, don't pull it off the shelf too
often but always dig it when I do. Cd 1 and 2 are
mostly from Test For Echo tour with a few tunes
from Counterparts tour thrown in for good
measure. Then CD 3 is a whole show from
Hammersmith Odeon in '78. So with the whole
3-cd set you get a great cross-section of their
80's forward synth stuff and the London '78
show with the early more guitar based stuff.
If you've never checked this one out before
then you won't be disappointed, I would
recommend this release to any type of Rush fan!
“Different Stages” is kind of a lost treasure chest collection of live songs; therefore, it is an absolutely must own live album for Rush fans.
In addition to the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s song staples that appear on the live releases before and after “Different Stages,” we also get a ton of rarities that don’t appear on any other live Rush album such as “Cinderella man,” “Cygnus X-1 (in its entirety),” “A Farewell to Kings,” and most notably, “2112” (in its entirety). Now, Rush has played the “Overture” and “Temples of Syrinx” sections of “2112” many times live, and there is a 15-minute version on “All the World’s a Stage that was recorded during the “2112” tour, but they strangely omit the “Discovery” and the “Oracle: The Dream” sections from that version. On this version, however, we get the whole 7-part/ 22-minute song in all its glory, and it is without question the seminal version of the song, trumping even the original studio version, which is amazing considering they recorded the original studio version 24 years before the release of this album.  - Rush fan/collector.

The entire album has been provided to You Tube
 by Warner Music Group.

THE HORROR THAT IS "SUMMER CAMP NIGHTMARE" - 1987 B-FLICK - THE CAMPERS TAKE REVENGE!

Mutiny on the Bounty meets the summer camp
would sum this one up nicely. And surprisingly
good at that, the director gives it some cool
personal touches. Plus any movie that shows
a high school band playing a FEAR song is
alright in my book. Using my Palm Springs
Rating System, I give this one Two and A Half
