watch out for this next horror, he calls himself "THE ICEMAN"! - 2012 Crime Thriller Starring MICHAEL SHANNON Is Based On The True Story Of A Mafia Hitman, He May Be Cold As Ice But He's Also A Family Man, Ya Dig?....THE HORROR!!

Here's another one recommended to me by the
Amazon Robot-O-Tron as I like to call it.
As mentioned the other day, it's on a roll
and the roll continues with this excellent
thriller that cost me a mere 98 cents.
As you know, this ain't no editorial type blog
so I'll cut to the chase- using my Palm Springs
Rating System, The Iceman gets Three & 3/4
Palm Trees under a full moon night, just great!

AVERAGE WHITE BAND 1976! - Revisiting a little double album called "Person To Person - Live" four exquisite sides of those funky boys from Scotland at the peak of their career recorded at 4 different shows....THE HORROR!!

I was 13 when this came out and had just seen the
band at the Hollywood Palladium and was living
in New York with my pops, I walked into a local
record store and asked if they had any AWB
and the guy said they just that morning they had
come out with a new double live-album, this
classic was in my hands seconds later.
It's a great record that's held it's weight over
time but still very underrated.

Keep your hands and feet inside the car at all time please, we have "MEAN JOHNNY BARROWS" in the House tonight doing security! - Fred Williamson stars in this classic 1976 blaxploitation drive-in flick....THE HORROR!!

Another new addition to my collection, the b-movie
section of course. Really diggin' this one, lots of LA
1976 locations, and something you don't see too often
in these, two big stars in small roles, Elliot Gould
and the always enjoyable Roddy McDowell who
looks like he just stepped onto the set from the
Playboy Mansion or something. Pleasant surprise
and using my Palm Springs Rating System give
this Two & 3/4 Palm Trees, the highest possible
rating for a b-movie.
ORIGINAL TRAILER - easy to find, in the public domain

Revisiting 1987's "THE SECRET OF MY SUCCESS" - so has this 80's Michael J Fox comedy held it's charm through the decades? We say yes and are calling for Classic 80's Status, ya dig?...The Horror!!

Nice to have this one back in the collection again,
I hadn't see it in a long while - still very funny. It's
dated in all the right ways and using my Palm Springs
Rating System, this flick is awarded the James Dibari
Potted Palm Tree Award, an honor indeed.
HQ TRAILER - should be easy to find!

From The BLACK CROWES Archives! - another Fillmore show coming your way, but this one is 2008 and I was in attendance 4th row standing center with my new buddy Kyle, a 21 year old kid into Classic Rock....THE HORROR!!

In 2008 I had the pleasure of attending the first
and second nights of a five-night tour closing
stand at the Fillmore. The first night I was standing
in line outside and a 21 year old kid in front of
me struck up a conversation about classic rock
and I remember being astounded that at his
age he liked all the old early 70's classic rock,
We became friends and stood in the same place
both nights, 4th center, this is a rare audience
capture of the second night, set list, 7daylink A- aud

Thanks to Ed for getting me interested in John C
films over this last year. This was a suggestion from
the Amazon Robot-O-Tron who to my surprise is
on a roll recently with it's picks. Yeah I like this one
a lot- instant fun, we like instant fun. Also might just
be my favorite Kurt Russell role ever, so funny. Using
my Palm Springs Rating System, I give this one a
solid Three Palm Trees with appropriate flood lights
Please welcome another great movie blog to the House,
it's called The Film Connoisseur, ya dig? Groovy baby.

Another new addition to my collection, first time seen, it
was recommended by one of the movie blogs here,
Matt Dillon hits it out of the park with an Oscar
worthy performance in this character piece.
Like this little indie a lot, I'm using my Palm Springs
Rating System with Three and A Half Palm Trees,
highly recommend!
