LED ZEPPELIN 1970! - "P.B" STANDS FOR PURE BLUES, NOT MUDSLIDE - VINYL RIP IS THE SHEER HORROR

Greetings all, kicking the weekend off with some classic Zep, this is a clean high quality vinyl rip of a first pressing of what would become to be known as Mudslide afterwards. Excellent notes in the article below about this historic and legendary Zep bootleg, the Start box to stand in when starting to collect live Zep, n-joy.....The Horror!! 7daylink
"The album was something of a homegrown Northwest production, pressed in limited quantities in Seattle and distributed largely in the Pacific Northwest, away from the rest of the bootleg production industry, which was mainly centered in Los Angeles at the time.Pure Blues achieved wider exposure when a boot collector from Seattle moved to L.A. in early 1971 and ran into the man behind Trademark Of Quality, currently riding high withBlueberry Hill. The Vancouver recording quickly became TMOQ's second Zeppelin title as Mudslide, and enjoyed a long run of success under that name, being reissued again and again in gradually decreasing sound quality as the years went by."

SAVAGE CINEMA'S BURIED TREASURE #2: "CORVETTE SUMMER" (1978)

"CORVETTE SUMMER" (1978) Co-Written and Directed by Matthew Robbins Hey kids! Have I got an out of sight gas of a summer romp ready for you to see before you reach summer's end! I have to express to you that I have never been the sort of male who has ever contained a passion for cars.

Film Flashback: Corvette Summer (1978)

I know that I should only be watching movies that have been (or are going to be) nominated for the Oscar for Best Picture, but sometimes an old movie will play on television and I just have to watch it.

FROM THE BLACK CROWES ARCHIVES! - THE HORROR OF THE EXTENDED VERSION OF 'THE BAND PLAYED ON'

During the months of Before The Frost shows in late 2009, the Crowes played around with a long version of the tune And The Band Played On, adding an extended jam to it. It was played only a handful of times between Sept and the year end shows at Fillmore 2009 which they did there. This is only the 3rd time they did it from a gig in Myrtle Beach. Over 10 minutes of Crowes with Luther and Rich jamming, oh yeah, I'm there......The Horror!!

In October 1968 Cream were pretty much over, apart from the remaining tour dates which would end with two final shows at the Royal Albert Hall in London on the 26th November. But mentally they all knew the musical journey they had embarked on in 1966 was coming to an end.

KURT RUSSELL IS A HELL BENT BOUNTY HUNTER IN "THE HATEFUL EIGHT"! - QUENTIN WTF THE HORROR!

This QT fan says the following regarding The Hateful Eight-
the bad - a really sweet act one & two that unfortunately leads to a predictable and way too violent act three (similar to Django.)
- QT used up his allotment of the N-word decades ago and quite frankly I'm sick of hearing it.
- as far as soundtrack, this might be his least effective music management
- Samuel Jackson's performance is dialed in, not his best acting by a mile
the good - all the things we usually expect from QT in photography and production design, the cinematography on some of the outdoor shots is breathtaking.
- there is one really big saving grace about this movie and her name is Jennifer Jason Leigh who is both hysterical and tragic in her role, she brings more than a lot to her character, one of her best.
Pinewoods Rating System - Three Pinewoods

With The Hateful Eight, Tarantino's Stylistic Compulsions Lead Him Astray

The unpleasant truth exposed by The Hateful Eight is that Quentin Tarantino's wit and craftsmanship - his artistic soul - are inextricable from his sadism. He has gone to elaborate lengths to make the movie look like a classic widescreen Western, in 70mm, with a thunderously lyrical overture by the great Ennio Morricone and an intermission, but there's nothing widescreen about his story.

The Hateful Eight Movie Review (2015) | Roger Ebert

An extraordinary display of directorial craft, but an ugly movie-so ugly that it seems as if the director is daring his harshest detractors to see it as a confirmation of their worst fears about his art.

KATIE HOLMES HAS "PIECES OF APRIL" IN THIS 2003 COMEDY DRAMA ABOUT A HORRIFIC THANKSGIVING

Now THIS is a Thanksgiving movie worth watching. - Hard to believe already 13 years has passed since it came out. Just a simple fun movie about a chick who's trying to pull it together on T-Day amidst a tital wave of dysfunctional family members. You know- the usual kind of thing that happens. Anyways, this ain't no editorial type blog so you can read some real reviews below. Pinewoods Rating System - Three Tall Pinewoods....The Horror!!

Pieces of April Movie Review & Film Summary (2003) | Roger Ebert

Thanksgiving is not a conventional religious or political holiday but consists simply of families gathering to love one another and express gratitude. That's the tricky part. There are no theologies to fall back on. It has inspired a uniquely North American group of films. Most of the families in them are troubled, but there is usually a reconciliation, comforting to everyone except the turkey.

Holiday Reunion

Pieces of April is built around the tired premise of a dysfunctional family's Thanksgiving get-together, but-surprise-it's fresh. First-time director Peter Hedges, who co-wrote the scripts for What's Eating Gilbert Grape? and About a Boy, has a feeling for how people behave in extreme situations.
