UNCLE TED NUGENT 2007! - One of rock's most truly horrific acts, this is a very rare show from 6-13-07 as Ted takes his act to House Of Blues in Cleveland, The Sheer Outright And Complete HORROR!!

set list below, 7daylink Rating A
The Horror!!

FEAR 1982! - Oh yes this one is mightily horrific as the show takes place in HOLLYWOOD at a place called AL'S BAR where the PA breaks down, Obscenities are being yelled from stage, people are spitting, hey it's FEAR SHOW!!

Still goin' at it, rock on Lee!
While there are a few better sounding FEAR boots out there
this one might be the best ever at capturing what the
experience was like seeing these guys back in the day.
It starts off with Philo the guitar player complaining
about how everything in his opinion is....well, fuc*ed
The Pa's fuc*ed, the audience, the room, he goes on
for a bit before the band launches into a blistering
Gimme Some Action as an opener. Sounds like it
was recorded on a cheap portable cassette player
with a terrible mic but whoever got the capture
was close, it's loud and at times distorted..
And we wouldn't have our FEAR any other way.

Around this next bend prepare to RIDE IN THE WHIRLWIND! - 1966 Western with JACK NICHOLSON way early on in his career yet he WROTE this? I didn't know he wrote a movie in the 60's did you?....The Horror!!

Jack's pal in real life, Harry "Dean" Stanton
whom we never tire of seeing onscreen
and whom seems to bring magic
to every role he's ever done.
One of those surprise discoveries, I really dig this one.
Jack wrote the script and he spins a nice yarn here
about three cowboys who have the misfortune of
running into some bad guys that just robbed
a stagecoach and get caught between them
and the sheriff so the whole movie plays
out like a cat n mouse, great stuff....The Horror!!
Palm Springs Rating System - Three Healthy Palm Trees

"PRIVATE BENJAMIN" At 35! - 1980 Army Comedy With GOLDIE HAWN still holds it's charm all these decades later, from the script to the screen every component of this comedy is....THE HORROR!!

80's comedies - some hold well through time and others
don't. This gem sure has, and I guess it would be hard
not to. Starting with a flat-out brilliant script, all the
other components rose to the occasion to make a
comedy that deserves to be discussed along all the
other great classics. Eileen Brennan hits it out of
the park, one of the all-time great comedic
actresses. Using my Palm Springs Rating System
I give the ole Pvt Bengie Four Tall Palm Trees,

LED ZEPPELIN 1970! - "BALTIMORE 1970" would be an apt title for this rare audience capture with three things not working properly, the band's PA, the taper's location, and the taper's aptitude....The Horror!!

set list, 7daylink, notes below, Rating B   listenable
This performance in this show is rather mediocre compared to others during this era and also married with rowdy audience and equipment problems. After a rather flaccid We're Gonna Groove, where Plant's microphone cut out half way through the song, he apologizes and explains: "We've only had this PA for three nights." The PA cuts out again several times in the show. Since I've Been Loving You was dropped from the set list and the organ solo is very short. How Many More Times contains a sharp version of Ravel's Bolero and That's Alright and My Baby Left Me are played together (makes sense since they are the same song). Plant tries all night to get the crowd "loose" and they do when they play their hit Whole Lotta Love (probably what most of the audience came to hear). - collector's notes
