Rare n' Classic 70's VINYL RIP! - "STEPPENWOLF - Best Of" is a rare release on Pickwick vinyl records label, kind of a take-off on '16 Greatest Hits' or 'Steppenwolf Gold" but with an even more Horrific Song Selection! (Link)

Rock On Vinyl, a highly recommended blog has
this Wolf goody, I like how they put the long
version of "For Ladies Only" on at the end.
Check it out over at his great blog!
Might as well get some more mileage out of this
photo I've posted a million times, yes that's
yours truly with John Kay backstage 2007..yippee
The Horror!!

Are you ready for this "NIGHT ON EARTH"? - 1991 Brilliant JIM JARMUSH Flick about 5 Different Cab Rides That Take Place In 5 Different Cities around the world, most Jarnusch fans would not agree with me but we say This is His Most HORRIFIC

5 Different Segments, all terrific. I like them all but
my favorite is definitely segment 2 in New York
with Giancarlo Espositio in one of his funniest
roles ever. I also really like the last segment
that takes place in Helsinki, just brilliant.
SEGMENT 2 - NEW YORK
SEGMENT 5 - HELSINKI
The Horror!!

Whatever you do, don't find yourself "ALL ALONE" in Tommy's House Of Horrors!! 2010 Woodsy Style Thriller Indie Film About Two Couples That Go Camping In The Woods With Double-Crossing Intentions In Mind....THE HORROR!!

If you're a sucker for thrillers that take place in the
woods like I am then you'll dig this little
 2010 low-budget indie.
All 5 principal actors had already worked together
in the theater for some time and they decided
to pull their efforts and resources together.
Using my Palm Springs Rating System, I give
this one a solid Two Palm Trees on a dusty road.

OFFICIAL TRAILER
Small indie film, could not find streaming anywhere,
link to Amazon DVD, new and used.

The Horror!!

LED ZEPPELIN 1973! - "MOBILE DICK" would be the clever name for this 2-cd boot from Mobile Alabama 1973, this is another oldie but a goody and qualifies for Zep 101 Status, ya dig what I'm sayin'? GROOVY BABY!

very well circulated show but in the event you've
never heard it, all I can say is...THE HORROR!
The version of Dazed & Confused on this is
one of best of whole tour, 7daylink Rating A+/A
The Horror!!

STONES On A Sunday Morn! - "I Gave You Diamonds, You Gave Me Disease : The Exile Outtakes" is a rather lengthy title for this boot, guess they get straight to the point, it's an Oldie But A Goodie from Sister Morphine Productions....THE HORROR!!

Mediafire on this one..it's an old link but still good!
check out these rather copious notes from a fan....
All of these songs, I've had in a bunch of other releases. Some very, very good, others really hissy and unlistenable for my ears...
BUT!!! Now, in excellent quality... no hiss at all on the Get a Line and Good Time Women... Cool cool hand has done just enough to the mastering w/o going overboard. Good Time Women goes right into Shake Your Hips... again no tape hiss...you would think this was an official release almost, what a blend of two outtake songs...
Hillside Blues clocks in at 11:15 the best quality I've yet to hear of this jam. Again no hiss, and yet somehow ou can hear all the players, I've never heard a version before w/o tape hiss, and never heard this longer version before... A winner twice!!!

The Horror!!

here we go again with LED ZEPPELIN, what's the Deal? - Ha, going Bat-Shit-Zep-Crazy lately, dig this "GRAND FINALE" 4, yes 4-Cd Set of the last show at MSG 1973 and last show of tour but still to this day is missing Stairway To Heaven....THE HORROR!!

As pictured, I'm pretty sure this is my first time ever
posting this, enjoy the 4 cds of Zep, 7daylink Rating A
Note: 4th cd contains two songs audience sourced.

Of Things Pertaining To "THE PHANTOM TOLLBOOTH"! - Offbeat 1970 Children's Movie with BUTCH PATRICK (Eddie Munster) and animation from CHUCK JONES of Warner Bros fame is perfectly suited for....THE HORROR!!

A movie fun for both children and adults, it's been
privy to many mixed reviews. But it's held it's ground
though time and depending on who you talk to,
become a children's classic. We lean that way.
Great article here from recommended blog

"Don't say there's nothing to do in the Doldrums...
it's just not true."....The Horror!!

taking a look back at the "THEATRE OF BLOOD"! - 1973 British Horror Film with VINCENT PRICE as a washed-up actor taking revenge on his critics by killing each of them in different ways, as long as it's according to....THE HORROR!!

This 1973 horror classic has always kind of been
off to the side on it's own but it not only has held
up through time, it becomes more and more
revered with each passing year, not surprising
it was one of Mr Price's favorite films of his!

The Horror!!

very spooky this next one, look out it's "THE CORN DOG MAN"! - 1999 Indie Film Stars NOBLE WILLINGHAM as a bigoted boat salesman who starts getting attacked with Prank Phone Calls, Who Keeps Calling Him?....THE HORROR!!

This is another one of those hidden gems, deservedly
on several Top 10 Best Indie flicks lists and a
Sundance winner, very comical and vulgar
but also very serious with a timeless
message on racism. Outstanding!

New Bootleg Single! - The Black Crowes doing a loose yet phenomenal version of Stones "TUMBLING DICE" in 2005 early on in tour when Bill Dubrow was playing drums and they were billing as Mr Crowes Garden....THE HORROR!!

a great fun and rollicking version of the Stones
tune complete with back-up singers and
faithfully representing the original studio version.

kickin' off the week with "FRANKENSTEIN & ME"! - The Horror is a 1996 Canadian film, a charming children's fantasy suitable for all ages and starring BURT REYNOLDS as the father of Two Boys Who Think They're Whole Life Is A.....HORROR!!

So glad this G-rated family fun nugget washed up on
my shore a couple years back via one of the movie
blogs here. Burt Reynolds worked for scale and they
shot all his scenes in one day. You can tell all of the
actor's were in it for the fun storyline and scenes
Using my Palm Springs Rating System, I give
this three and a half Palm Trees, ya dig?
FULL MOVIE someone upped on You Tube.
This is rare and out-of-print and never released
on DVD. VHS copies used go for anywheres
from $25 and up.
The Horror!!

Horrors abound, it's "GUITAR HEROES - LED ZEPPELIN INSTRUMENTAL RENDITIONS" a 2008 Cd with almost countless Rock Guitar Gods doing their instrumental versions of Zep Tunes....THE SHEER HORROR!!

Oh yes,  this is another one of those goodies that
fly below the radar screen, definitely have turned
a few people onto this, highly recommend,
